Making a difference one life at a time
"Every face here represents a life cared for by Hope For Life Rescue, some still waiting, some already home, all deeply loved."
Our mission
We Rescue The Abandoned, injured, Abused, & Neglected
Hope For Life Rescue is a 501(c)3 non-profit, animal rescue located in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
We focus on rescuing abandoned, injured, abused, and neglected dogs and cats, many of whom are at high risk of euthanasia in open-intake shelters. While we do not typically accept owner surrendered pets, our mission is to step in and save those who need us most.
Though we remain a small, hands-on team, our impact has grown significantly. We now take in an average of 1,200 animals annually and spend roughly $450,000 each year on veterinary care alone, doing everything possible to ensure our animals reach their best level of health.
Because we are a rescue rather than a traditional shelter, we have the flexibility to focus our efforts where they're needed most. We never euthanize for space or time, and we are not afraid to take on animals with serious medical needs who might not have a chance elsewhere.
Despite the challenges that come with the animals we choose to rescue, we proudly maintain a 96% - 98% save rate.
